The mountain air
La Plagne is more than a winter resort. If you like adventure then we would recommend getting up high and seeing the stunning scenery from the air. Now this can be achieved in several different ways. A helicopter flight is a great way to see the mountains, valleys and surrounding areas as a group. Alternatively you can experience the exhilaration of paragliding, leaving the mountain side and taking in the stunning scenery as you gracefully fall back to earth. A more cost-effective way of seeing the mountains from the air is the zip wire. Starting in Aime 2000 the zip wire takes you across the valley, descends into Plagne Centre, and is a thrilling experience for all of the family.
Relax in the valley
Macot Lake is only a short distance away from the chalet and is well worth a visit. During the summer there are many activities at the lake: Acro Bungee, Aquabulles, Canoeing/Kayaking, swimming and many more. There is also a picnic spot and barbecue area where you can enjoy a picturesque lunch, surrounded by beautiful greenery. It is a beautiful place to walk and jog or simply enjoy the stunning views of the mountains.
White water rafting
A great way to cool off from the summer heat is to take a plunge into to the fast flowing, snow-melt waters of the Isère River. Fun for all of the family, rafting is a truly incredible experience. The white water rafting combines moments of pure adrenaline, with some of the most fabulous mountain scenery, and wooded banks, as you pass through the gorges.
If you are feeling even more adventurous, then you could try white water swimming on a Hydro discovery course.
Walks and trails
La Plagne offers so many walks and trails, that there are too many to mention. However, whatever you are looking for, the mountain area has it covered. There are marked picturesque walks through woodlands, along winding streams, mountain tracks and open pastures.
There are organised hikes you can get involved with, or if you want to get straight to the top of the mountain to take in the breathtaking views, then all you need to do is buy a lift ticket from the tourist office.
You could choose to go down and explore the valley pathways along the Isère River. The only problem you will encounter is deciding which one to do.
